Review of Midnight Express (1978) by Peter P — 05 Oct 2011
Now I get all those references people have made over the years to turkish prisons, cause man do they suck. This is a good look at why you want to make sure you don't break the laws in foreign countries, especially smuggling drugs.
The acting is good, and as always, John Hurt steals all the scenes he is in, and I also now get the scene from The Cable Guy where Jim Carrey bares his chest and presses it up to the glass when visiting the prison.
So I guess you can say this movie was kinda influential.
