Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by John F — 11 Mar 2009
In retrospect, this film doesn't add up but its significance in film history cannot be denied. It was rated X when it was released (for the gratuitous sex and open drug use). The pairing of Joe Buck and Ratso Rizzo seems a bit contrived and both characters are one-dimensional.
Regardless, it is a mandatory 'see' for all film students and historians.
