Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by Vijay L — 17 Jun 2010
Very few films can be as deeply depressing and down and yet have a upbeat and cheerful feel to it. The film takes a look at a part of NY we'd rather not see in poverty and yet Hoffman and Voight bring so much life and joy into it through their performances.
Which both are excellent, easily better than the duke who did win best actor. The soundtrack to the film is memorable from start to finish. Great film and deserving of its best picture oscar in a year of great films.
