From the 4:3 ratio, to the music choices, to the a perfect casting where most of the kids in the movie are actually skaters. Jonah Hill did a fantastic job showing these kids at a point in their life, before they become adults.
Set in his hometown of Los Angeles, you feel the richness of this world that Jonah grew up in. Sunny Soljic deserves a lot of praise, he carries this film very well and you are fully invested with where his story goes.
A really great debut from Jonah Hill and I can't wait to see what he makes next.
