Review of Micmacs (2009) by Ray P — 16 Feb 2011
French Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet has a great eye for artistic detail and physical comedy. In "Micmacs" he has found the ideal cast for the physical and other-worldly comedy bits that are done better than any action film you will see this year.
Danny Boon as the lead character is seeking retribution for the death of his father as well as the bullet that is lodged in his own skull that has cost him everything. He teams up with a homeless band of misfits that live in a junk-yard --- each possessing an amazing skill (including an incredible contortionist played by Julie Ferrier). The band of Micmacs plot to bring down the two weapons distirbutors at fault for Danny Boon's current fate and the action scenes are like Mission Impossible meets Cirque de Soleil.
An incredible eye-catching treat of a film!
