Review of Michael Collins (1996) by Adam C — 13 Dec 2009
This film records how revolutionary leaders are often a mixture of idealists, pragmatists, and opportunists. Liam Neeson does an amazing job portraying the hope and the glory, the blood, and the murder needed to create an independent nation.
Michael Collins in real life was a complex man and this movie unveils some of the nuances. This is movie is very good but I still prefer Loach's take on the Irish Revolution.
