Review of Michael Clayton (2007) by Randy R — 20 Jun 2011
The Movies of 2007. This was one of the them and I am proud to say that this film fires on all cylinders. George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson, Tilda Swinton and Sidney Pollack are in true form in this film. The film's writing and directing, both done by Tony Gilroy, who made his directorial debut, is true to form and this film in the same league as Breach, The Departed, Taxi Driver, Carlito's Way, Pulp Fiction, The Game and Panic Room, just to name a few.
The acting is top notch, especially from Tilda Swinton, who plays Karen Crowder, the icy U/North litigator. A brilliant, slow boil thriller that does keep you on the edge of your seat until the final frame with George Clooney in the taxi, smiling that he personaly destroyed U/North and the screen fades to black.
Nominated for 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture 2007.
