Review of Michael Clayton (2007) by Corranh. — 14 Oct 2007
I'm disappointed (but not surprised) by some of the negative reactions to this. This isn't a movie for everyone. I felt that Tony Gilroy made an EXCELLENT directing debut with this, and the main cast members (Clooney, Swinton, Wilkinson--in a role reminiscent of Peter Finch's in Network, and Pollack) all deliver excellent performances.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few Oscar noms come this movie's way. Definitely an excellent entry into the family of intelligent thrillers like All The President's Men, Parallax View, 3 Days of the Condor, Traffic, and Syriana.
