Metro is a film that I thought came out in 98 but obviously I was wrong it's 1997... Director Thomas Carter directs a film brimming with romance, violence and a small amount of gags but for the most part Metro is a serious film if you compare it to Beverly Hills Cop which was cheese compared to this.

... Eddie Murphy plays Scott Roper who's a hostage negotiator who teams up with a sharpshooter named Michael Rapaport to bring down Korda played by Michael Wincott who's a jewel thief and obviously the bad guy.

...Art Evans (Fright Night) gets killed early in the movie with Korda disappearing after killing him. Korda tries to get his cousin to kill Eddie Murphy's girl played by Carmen Ejogo.... Later Korda escapes from prison and kidnaps his girl and Roper gets her back in the end with some help from his sharpshooter buddy who sneaks under the vehicle and Korda doesn't spot him getting out from under it and climbing on a roof to get into position to take him out which was silly.

Korda (Michael Wincott) dies at the end in an explosion after Eddie Murphy kicks his butt by knocking some sense into him whilst he's driving and Murphy hanging on to the vehicle.... People saying Metro isn't funny are wrong because some parts are hilarious especially when Scott Roper (Eddie Murphy) is constantly swearing at his sharpshooter partner having fun and he replies to Eddie Murphy is all the name calling necessary I don't like the verbal abuse, that cracked me up but for the most part it's serious, perhaps over the top and very violent and full of on foot chases, vehicle chases, gunfire, explosions, bit of romance, loads of bad language, mild nudity and pure violence and a great story plus Michael Wincott is a great villain and Michael Rapaport and Eddie Murphy were fantastic.

In my opinion sod 48 Hrs and the Beverly Hills Cop films because METRO is Eddie Murphy's best film and most violent film. If you like violence I recommend Metro to you plus Eddie Murphy is in good form which is a bonus.

Good film.
