Review of Metallica: Through the Never (2013) by Josh X H — 18 Feb 2014
I was expecting about half and half between performance footage and story. It was about 7/8 performance, 1/8 story. That being said, the performance was OUTTA CONTROL. The sound was amazing, especially for a live concert.
If it was doctored at all... idk, idc, it was great. They also really spiced it up with a phenomenal use of set pieces, props, lights and pyrotechnics. You really have to see it to believe it. HOWEVER, as only a casual Metallica fan, as awesome as the performances were, METALLICA'S SONGS ARE TOO LONG! Haha.
They don't keep my attention for as long as they are. Now, the story, which was my main interest, was a major let down. Very short and didn't make a lot of sense. All in all I was very impressed with the performance and very let down by the story.
If you are a big on Metallica this will blow your mind. If not, be prepared for several big thrills but a long ride.
