This is a masterwork of heavy metal, the album that set Sabbath apart from other British rock bands. Black Sabbath released their self titled debut a year before Paranoid, an album that defined the sound of Metal.
However, it was Paranoid that set the standards of what was going to be the defining sound of what metal is. Black Sabbath are the fathers of Heavy Metal music. With Paranoid they created the defining Metal record, an album that is regarded as an absolute classic by fans of Metal.
