Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Aaron S — 27 Jun 2008

A lot of love went into this film, and, as a MetalHead, I definitely appreciate that. I particularly enjoyed the examination of the different sub-genres of Metal; I never realized that there were so many.

I don't know what a lot of the "reviewers" on here are talking about, when they say that it doesn't really teach MetalHeads anything new; I've been following Metal since 7th Grade, and this film taught me plenty of things about my favorite genre.

Particularly the origins of the infamous MetalHorns, as popularized by Ronnie James Dio... or Gene Simmons, depending on who you believe. Overall, I felt that this film was very informative, and very well done.
