Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Ryan E — 26 Dec 2008
Great documentary. Talks about the whole history of Metal, well maybe talk about it isn't the right wording, more like briefly tells you. I have a problem about the guy just focusing on only a few sub-genres of Metal but my big problem with this film was in my eyes he didn't interview enough known rockstars, sure he interviewed Bruce Dickinson and Dio but he needed more like someone from Metallica or Slash, not all those Norwegian Death Metal bands.
That was just fucked up, burning churches and killing people because they believed Satan will set them free, free from what? All in all, a well done documentary but I think it should of been longer so it could describe more sub-genres of Metal.
