Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Sarah M — 30 Jan 2009
An excellent documentary made by a metal head for ALL metal heads! Sam Dunn does a great job of detailing the rise and roots of metal, exploring the culture of metal, women's roles in metal, the "religion" of metal and the basic positive need for metal in society as a whole.
Great interview footage and loved the family tree type chart of the varying types of metal from it's origins to todays current varying genres of the varying metal scenes (although I don't agree with all of them, but then again, a true metal fan never does! Please see this movie if you like music!
