Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Miles L — 22 Jul 2008
It's been a while since I've seen this movie but I remember that it wasn't very enlightening about the any of the genres of metal music. Though it did dabble in the sociological effect and evolution of the music of this music it was so vague it failed to be very enlightening or compelling.
Granted someone who only has a vague or no knowledge probably will like this movie. Being a fan of heavy metal I did not like the movie it only focused on the most mainstream bands of the genre and did not talk about the bands that influenced these genres. Truly this subject seems better suited for a series of documentaries or an HBO mini-series.
