Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Hunter D — 02 Aug 2009
A documentary that is a must-see for all metalheads, and even those who don't much care for the genre should give it a whirl just to see why people like me love this music so much. This film gets extra props for its interesting interviews, as well as its exploration of Norwegian black metal, perhaps the most interesting and controversial form of heavy metal music.
Sam Dunn covers all bases here in relation to metal: the history, the fandom, gender roles, religion, etc. Awesome.
