Review of Mesrine: Public Enemy #1 (2008) by Avishek C — 30 Aug 2009
French film. Now this guy is my kind of criminal, sauve, Robin Hood rob from the rich give to the poor. "I rob banks because the banks rob the people, so I don't consider it a crime, I don't wanna work for 10 years to buy a car.
" I like what the millionaire tells him "I'm a landlord, I steal money from poor people, poverty-stricken tenants simply because I can, we're not different you and I, you rob banks simply because you can, I rob the poor simply because I can".
I bet when they played this movie in France half the crowd would have jumped up and said "Vive la Socialism. A bas le capitalisme" and thrown their drinks and popcorn at the screen. Very nice to watch a movie without the Capitalistic brainwashing present in all American movies.
