Folks want to give John Singleton and Boyz In The Hood credit for illustrating the plight of the young black male in the early 90's. Excuse my French, but FUCK THAT!!! For The Hughes Brothers to create character portrayals like Caine, O-Dog, Sharif, and Stacey was extremely brilliant.
Despite their close relationships and same life experiences, not all black men are the same. Sometimes, even the good die young. In my opinion, this is one of the best movies ever made.
