Well acted and surprisingly satisfying, this predictable Hood-Rat coming of age tale might look old and camp in comparison to the brutal docu-realism of shows like The Wire and The Corner - but this is probably the best the Hughes Brothers will ever manage.
Excellent soundtrack as well.
