(2003) Memories Of Murder.
(In South Korean with English subtitles).
ADULT MYSTERY.
At least 75% or more is conventional, and this pass is strictly because of the unconventional last 5 minutes, which is obviously a movie that is based on fact and fiction. I believe (until otherwise) that the way the murders happen was real, but the practice and the approach into solving those murders isn't convincing at all, since one of the homicide officers who's in charge of the case gradually assaults his suspects without any solid proof, reminiscent of how the Dirty Harry character does in his movies. There's a serial killer around the countryside who goes after young girls with only a small group of people to solve it. They decide to incorporate someone from the local city to help solve it since his approach is radically different than the homicide detective assigned to. Some of the inconsistencies also include eyewitnesses and the fact that they're too many coincidences as well as obstacles stacked up against them into solving them since the unit is insufficiently funded by it's gov't.
2.5 out of 4 stars.
