Review of Memories of Murder (2003) by Daniel H — 09 May 2009
South Korean masterpiece - great companion piece to Zodiac, also dealing with the obsessive cops on the case of a real string of murders. It manages to be complex, funny and nuanced as little by little the details create an unbearable tension, until a climax as powerful and haunting as 'Seven's.
Joon-ho Bong went on to blockbuster success with 'The Host', also great, but this one is really something special.
