Review of Memories of Murder (2003) by Faizal K — 20 Dec 2009
Quoting my close confidant who's also also a movie freak like me... "Though I'm six years too late but it really blew my mind"... This film indeed blew my mind...Joon-ho Bong's surely a genius...his knack for interjecting comedy in a very tense situation is fantastic... (i believe it is a "Korean" thing... Park Chan-wook did a brilliant similar job in "Thirst" too!) but that didn't do any harm to the emotional wallop conjure up by this thriller...
Song Kang-ho as a rustic rural cop is a revelation...what an actor!...cant believed he played the composed and nonchalant Vampire priest in "Thirst" ... Quoting my close confidant again "wow... i'm a fan!"...
