In this movie, Zhang played a geisha, named Nitta Sayuri. She was selected personally by Steven Spielberg and positively confirmed by Rob Marshall. I have to give them a thumbs-down for that.

Read the novel in 2002 and liked it. Can?t have this movie ruin my memory. And seriously, why did they not have Japanese actresses play Geisha? I mean I love Gong Li and Michelle Yeoh, but it is confusing with all these Chinese playing Geisha in it. There was actually an online review saying that ?before the movie, I thought Geisha are all Japanese. ? What good doe this make????

All in all, Zhang is a good dancer as an actress, a good actress as a dancer?and she is prettier without makeup on.
