Review of Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) by Isaac M — 26 Aug 2011
While the film has great acting, cinematography and a marvelous score, the film lacks an engaging storyline for the 2nd and 3rd act. The character development of Chiyo/Sayuri seems natural at first and then deteriorates until she seems becomes unpredictable by the film's end, making 180 degree turns in a ten minute time span.
John Williams aside, there's little I enjoyed about the film, and it's hard for me to say I even appreciated it that much.
