Review of Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) by Marco — 07 Jan 2006
Not only does the film fail to stay true to the book, it is a disgrace to it. If you have read the book you'll see what I mean. Obviously I did not expect the film to be just like the book, but its just ridiculous.
The film seems to miss everything the book is about, it does not capture the life of Saguri or of a geisha for that matter. It is a pity that Rob Marshall had to destroy such a great story.
