Review of Melody Time (1948) by Robert T — 14 May 2008

Not sure if I should declare this as an animated feature, because the whole film consisted of several short films. Nonetheless, I found this to be the most boring animated feature Disney have ever created -- or, compiled.

Similar to the few previous Disney efforts that were released before this, the film failed to create a cohesive environment and theme. Consisting of random short films that were not even that memorable and for Disney for taking taking in consideration that most of young children these days are not interested in slow old fashion animated shorts -- unless they were exposed to it since early childhood, which I highly doubt.

I used to own this as a young child, and I tried to enjoy it, but sadly, it was too hard. The musical choices in the film were boring, none of the characters in any of the short films were interesting, and it was obvious that Disney added Donald Duck on the cover to sell the product when Donald himself was only on screen for less than ten-minutes.

Honestly, I would watch this for the traditional techniques that were used to create this project, but to view this as a narrative, full-length animated feature, that would be a little hard to follow.

Overall, it would be best if Disney kept this in their fault, and if they want to sell this product, best if they air it for free on television (as separate episodes) than sell it as a full-length animated feature.
