Review of Melody Time (1948) by Colin L — 18 Apr 2014
Once Upon a Wintertime, The Legend of Johnny Appleseed, Little Toot and Pecos Bill are the main highlights in another attempt at creating a quasi-sequel to the innovative idea of Fantasia. Though in this case the shorts are stronger when compared to Make Mine Music.
The downsides are essentially the same problems as the others as before, the animation ranges from sub-par to surreal, the tone is all over the place and the ending seems to leave without a note to end off.
Only recommendable to those seeking enjoyment out of musicals and cartoon shorts.
