Review of Melinda and Melinda (2004) by Helena F — 19 Feb 2010
Going in to this film I was lead to believe that I would be told two stories: both the same story, but one is delivered as a tragedy, one as a comedy. Aside from the terrible acting, the stories were actually different enough that a comparison between the two genres could not be made.
Also the comedy side was not funny at all. The film would have been better if it had the same cast for both story lines, and had the same script, events, etc. Melinda and Melinda sounded like a great expression in story telling, but it was absolutely not.
