Review of Melancholia (2011) by Robert C — 09 Jul 2012
If nothing else, I appreciate this movie for giving us the worldview of someone who suffers from depression. When your soul stares at the darkest aspects of life and existence, the issues that everyone else wastes their time fretting about appear blatantly trivial.
And when real issues present themselves, you're more prepared than anyone else to confront them. That's why Justine, who at first seemed to be a mess, turned out to be the strongest character in the movie.
