Great cinematography, lots of wonderful actors & performances...but character-wise, Justine deserved nothing more (for what she did to her husband, among other things) than to be beaten like she beated that horse!!
She may be an interesting character to debate & analyze, that too if you can pass through the beating scene...love the symbolistic though...
