Review of Melancholia (2011) by Steven K — 10 Feb 2013
If you can forgive Lars von Trier for the pure pretentiousness and the blatant display of undeserved pride that make up 10 minutes of the intro of the movie, you will find yourself watching a beautiful film that is devastatingly honest and heartbreakingly bleak.
Lars von Trier's shameless exploration of a person suffering from depression in the first half of the movie is one to be admired.
