Review of Melancholia (2011) by Mark W — 04 Aug 2014
Enjoyed this. I was totally taken in and included. I felt part of the cast and the impending doom. The total representational lack of outside media (TV, Radio, breaking news etc) made me feel so focussed on the characters that I wasn't interested in how the rest of the world was actually dealing with it.
Each individual character, and their interaction within, became bigger than the eventual climax, which somehow was turned into an accepted and poignant finalà (C). Bravo. Exceptional.
