Review of Melancholia (2011) by Brandon W — 11 Mar 2015
Melancholia is an amazing movie that I never see anything like this. Kirsten Dunst is amazing in this and definitely knows how to act depressed. The writing and direction by Lars von Trier are great. The supporting cast are solid, and the effects are really good.
It shows depression really effectively and I thought that Rabbit Hole is the most depressing movie I have ever seen, but it still kept me interested like Rabbit Hole. The plot is not that bad, and the characters are memorable.
It has some funny moments that kept this movie from being too depressing, and I had no idea where it's going. Melancholia is a masterpiece that can keep you interested even if the pacing is slow.
