Review of Melancholia (2011) by Omid I — 06 Dec 2012
Well this was a different movie than the ones I am used to. It was good if you like depressing movies with depressing characters in depressing relationships and in the most depressing situation. The end of the world.
I felt sorry for everyone at the wedding in the movie. It could have been amazing for evyone if the bride wasn't in a big funky depression. She tried to hide it, but in the end it was a complete bust for everyone and kind of a waste of time in the movie.
The relationship with the bride and her sister and husband was sad when they should have been supportive. The characters were kinda interesting in how they handled the situation. The end of the movie blows you away.
If nothing else this movie gave a great deal to discuss after the movie was over. Mixed reviews from my friends. Makes you think. But probably not a movie I would recommend to many people.
