Review of Megan Is Missing (2011) by Rob W — 01 Aug 2013
Extremely well done and visceral. But disturbing. Having a daughter that is discovering the internet has made me very aware of internet predators, but Megan is Missing takes it to a whole new level.
While I didn't care for the Megan character that much (which is opposite of the characters onscreen who all loved her) but really liked Amy (which the online characters barely acknowledge, especially with the pink ribbon campaign).
Seeing how Megan was convinced to meet Josh was scary. So many red flags, but Megan fell for everything because Josh said exactly what Megan wanted to hear. It was painful seeing it, knowing we can't do anything to help her.
The last 20 minutes are very hard to watch. Especially the last minute before the credits. It really hurts watching that.
I don't honestly recommend this movie despite being very well done. It is not enjoyable and very difficult to get through (especially for someone having a daughter).
