Review of Megamind (2010) by Fiestabob — 18 Dec 2010

My brother boldly declared "Mega Mind was mega stupid!" after seeing it. I would not go as far as he did with his statement, but I did feel that it was a mediocre effort by the filmmakers. Will Ferrell is hilarious as an actor, but as a cartoon voice we are left without his facial expressions and body language which always lend to his humor.

The opening sequence was probably the funniest portion of the movie before we settle into another story of a bad guy who realizes he isn't so bad after all (Despicable Me?). You will get a few laughs from this movie, but do not go into it expecting to see a Shrek (the first one) or Toy Story quality story.
