Review of Meet the Robinsons (2007) by Elliott A — 17 Dec 2009
This Disney film was an improvement over that ridiculous Chicken Little (2005). The characters all had great personalities and were likable, but there was no character development that made me really care for them like the characters of 90s classics.
The plot was all over the place and not just not that strong of a story that made me want to put up on that shelf of Disney animated classics. I think Disney is trying to be way too Pixar and going all CG (3D animation) instead of keeping with the 2D traditional hand drawn animation Walt Disney started with in 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
I strongly believe that they're 3D films are bringing them down b/c they are trying to be Pixar whose films are all phenomenally epic and good, but Disney's 3D films including this one are failing.
On a good note, there are some good messages and themes: family, acceptance, time travel, adventure, and of course KEEP MOVING FORWARD to pursue your dreams no matter what. Overall, I give the movie a C+.
