Review of Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) by Tracy T — 27 Oct 2007
We really lost a wonderful actress when Judy Garland passed away in 1969. And no matter how much I really love this movie, I can't help but feel really sorry for her doing the shooting-MGM purposely kept prolonging her anorexia since they made The Wizard Of Oz and as such, she never fully recovered from all the exhaustive work and took to drugs and all later in her career.
Even so, the songs are incredibly catchy and such a lovable cast, especially Magaret O'Brien as Tootie, you really feel for them during the entire film about their reticence over moving to New York.
I highly recommend this as a great family film and also as a holiday film.
