Review of Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) by Tim C — 01 Aug 2009
The first Minnelli/Garland collaboration that scored itself into America's musical consciousness and memory. Judy Garland matures right before our eyes, and Margaret O'Brien's Tootie is so cute that the Academy Of Motion Pictures & Sciences gave her a Special Oscar for Outstanding Performance by a Child Actor for the year of 1944.
You laugh, you cry, you smile. (Also: in the near future Liza Minnelli would be born from this collaboration).
