Stanwyck is wonderful in this role. Like Mr. smith goes to washington, the leading woman is a catalyst. Cooper a naive average joe who becomes an overnight political hero. Frank Capra's has a fixation with the common man.
From the mis-en-scene to the script everything about this film is just excellent.
