Review of Meet Bill (2007) by Ken B — 09 Dec 2008
This movie is either a poorly written drama with a few funny moments or a poorly written unfunny comedy. It's not just poor writing, though. This movie makes no sense. Bill eats his feelings by stuffing his face with candy bars.
Bill's wife cheats on him with a news reporter, but Bill wants her back. I'm not sure why since she doesn't seem very nice or like she loves him. He wants a doughnut franchise. I guess he's having some sort of mid-life crisis, but the audience is left not feeling anything for him.
What is he motivated to do? Nothing. So, in the end, nothing happens. Bill goes from doing stuff he doesn't want to do, to doing nothing, or not being sure what he's going to do. They apparently didn't know how to end this one, so they just take the easy way out.
There are much, much better movies that deal with this same topic in both a more realistic and funny way.
