Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Aaron R — 19 Aug 2011
A engageing film from the start focusing on settlers traveling the famous Oregon trail in search of a place to settle, but as we join the story, there is lost hope as meek the guide they have employed is not leading them anywhere and water and food much needed.
tensions rise amounst the settlers towards his thinkings, and how to procede. The film itself is all abouit this and for a film set against the frontier and western myths, no action to speak off and this also works in its favour.
its all about the charactors and the situation at hand, a film with no easy answers towards its climax also raises questions to the destiny of these people.
