Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Eric S — 21 Sep 2011
Painfully authentic western from the always interesting indie director Kelly Reichardt, about a wandering group of homesteaders lost on their way west. When they take a "savage" prisoner, the debate about whether to kill him, or let him lead them to water, becomes the focus for survival vs.
blatant racial prejudice. A fine cast, and beautiful outdoors photography.
