Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Valeria P — 06 Dec 2011
An unusual western, where the only person who shoots is a woman. :) This movie realistically depicts the hardships endured by the pioneers in the 1800s and the leap of faith they took on their journey to conquer a piece of land across the continent.
It shows the divide in motivations between the settlers and the Native Americans and how the gulf between the two cultures can't be truly crossed. This is the second movie that I see by this director.
Loved Wendy and Lucy, and this one is also a success.
