A slow move across the oregon trail without much narrative translates to a slow movie. certain passages were beautiful and captivating but mostly I felt dusty, dry, and thirsty watching this. great little cast of character actors.
some folks were calling this movie of the year. no way. oh and i'm not one that needs a tidy resolution at the end, but this one just stopped out of nowhere, like they ran out of film or a camera broke.
but thats the directors touch, kelly reichardt. still, this was a big improvement on her last film, wendy and lucy.
