Review of Meantime (1983) by Sinem S — 31 Aug 2010
This was the first Mike Leigh film I saw, and probably because of that, found a bit hard-going, due to the director's minimalistic style, which I have since grown to appreciate. It's quite frustrating to watch, but that's mainly because of what Mike Leigh has depicted - the boredom and lack of motivation and drive prevalent amongst a lot of the unemployed people in Britain.
Good to see Tim Roth and Gary Oldman in early roles.
