Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Dylon M — 17 Dec 2009
"You don't make up for your sins in the church you do it in the streets. The rest is bullshit and you know it". Mean Streets--Scorsese's 1973 indie classic--contains some of the most heartaching inner-monologue I've ever heard.
Serving as a break-through film for both Scorsese and De Nirom you couldn't really ask for more?...Fucking amazing music, Scorsese's signature directing, and Keitel and De Niro at their best. Just behind 'Taxi Driver' and 'Goodfellas' this is my favorite movie from Marty.
If you haven't seen it, pick it up now, or go rot in hell.
