Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Rodrigo C — 07 Feb 2010

As been said before, the first purely Scorsese film and his first masterpiece.
Underrated by majorities, it constitutes an essential part of its genre. Rich in content, energetic, vital, very entertaining and colorfully realistic, it rises as a seventh art's gem and point of reference for so many other films. It is worth highlighting Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro, both great in their main roles. An undisputed classic.
It has to be the film with the most soul I have seen.
