Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Daniel W — 28 Jul 2014
I'm going to disagree with everyone here saying it's a masterpiece blah blah Scorsese is amazing blah blah shut up. It was slow and fairly aimless until the last few minutes. Quite disappointing considering a great opening movie scene.
However I can't say the actors weren't great especially Harvey keitel. The style of directing is very artsy n perfect in creativity with the shots and tone but the plot was just boring and so was the dialogue.
It had all the elements to a great gritty movie but lacked something interesting and deep for a message. Overrated next its like another taxi driver or raging bull I don't get the hype about this director.
