Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Owen P — 05 Aug 2009
Gritty, stylish and almost noir-y, Mean Streets really shows what a great director Martin Scorsese is. What stands out is the innovative use of lighting and camera angles, combined with the soundtrack and slick editing, making this incredibly cool and years ahead of its time.
